On this page, you’ll find both the scientific (INCI) and common names of each plant-based element we work with because we believe in honesty, simplicity, and helping you feel confident about what you’re putting on your skin and in your body. ALOE VERA LIQUID (Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice)

– The aloe vera plant is a succulent with highly moisturising and healing liquid.

BAKUCHIOL (Psoralea Corylifolia Seed Oil)

– An oil made from the Babchi plant – a natural alternative to retinol, found to have been used in Ayurveda and Eastern medicine for centuries.

  • it is more gentle than retinol, making it a better option for sensitive skin

CALENDULA OIL (Calendula Officinalis Flower Oil)

– This oil is made by soaking the flowers of the Calendula plant (also known as the Marigold plant) in a neutral carrier oil.

  • healing properties that come from the plant’s ability to increase blood flow in the skin, leading to regeneration of healthy skin cells

CBD OIL (Cannabidiol)

– An oil made by extracting CBD from the Cannabis plant – CBD is a cannabinoid, which are chemicals naturally found in marijuana and hemp plants. Our CBD contains 0% THC (the main psychoactive compound found in the Cannabis plant) and will not give you a “high”, or any other form of psychoactive effect. It’s benefits include (but are not limited to):

CHAMOMILE ESSENTIAL OIL (Chamomilla Recutita Oil)

– An essential oil made from the dried flowers of the German Chamomile plant, known for its calming properties.

  • prevents acne breakouts by regulating the skin’s oil production

COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE (CAPB)

– A mixture of similar organic compounds, made mostly from coconut oil, and is used in our cleanser to condition the skin and reduce the static of the ingredients (making it easier to apply to the skin).

  • easily bonds with oil, dirt, and other impurities, which makes it easy to remove them from the skin
  • it has excellent hydrating properties

COCONUT OIL (Cocos Nucifera)

– A fatty-acid oil, extracted from the kernels of mature coconuts.

  • contains Vitamin E – a powerful antioxidant that prevents skin damage caused by free radicals, and also aids in promoting skin elasticity
  • amino acids that promote (and are necessary for) the production of healthy, plump skin
  • packed with fatty acids that moisture and hydrate the skin
  • naturally antibacterial and antifungal, which help in preventing skin infections
  • anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe skin irritations such as acne, and reduce redness

COFFEE BEAN OIL (Coffea Arabica Seed Oil)

– A pure oil made by pressing the green beans of the Coffee plant, all while holding onto its beautiful aroma.

  • filled with caffeine and fatty acids that help build collagen and elastin, increasing the firmness and elasticity of your skin

EVENING PRIMROSE OIL (Oenothera Biennis)

– Made from the Evening Primrose flower seeds – this oil is rich in omega-6 essential fatty acids.

GEOGARD ULTRA (Gluconolactone)

– A completely natural preservative, used to stop the growth of bacteria and prevent the spoiling of skin and body care products.

GLYCERINE

– A natural liquid made from various vegetable oils, that acts as a humectant which draws moisture to the skin.

  • it is an emollient which softens the skin, making it beneficial for eczema, psoriasis, and dry skin
  • antimicrobial properties which protect the skin from harmful micro-organisms

GREEN TEA EXTRACT (Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract)

– A supplement derived from the Green Tea plant, containing concentrated compounds of green tea’s beneficial properties:

  • contains vitamin b12, which is essential in maintaining collagen levels
  • shrinks pores
  • antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and oil balancing properties that prevent acne breakouts

HEMISQUALANE (C13-15 Alkane)

– A 100% natural moisturiser and humectant (draws moisture to the skin) made from sugarcane. Our body produces its own version of squalane (hemisqualane is a lighter form of squalane), however, the amount that is made decreases as we get older. Therefore, adding this plant-based alternative to your skincare routine is beneficial.

HIBISCUS EXTRACT (Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract)

– this is a powder made from the colourful flowers of the Hibiscus tree, and is a source of many vitamins, minerals and compounds that are beneficial to the body.

HYALURONIC ACID (Sodium Hyaluronate)

– A sugar that is found naturally in our skin and binds to water – it can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water.

JASMINE OIL (Jasminum Officinale Oil)

– An essential oil made from pressing the white flowers of the Jasmine plant.

  • anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties that can treat symptoms of acne by killing harmful bacteria

JOJOBA OIL (Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil)

– An oil-like wax, which is extracted from the seeds of the Jojoba plant – it is rich in vitamins, anti-oxidants, and fatty acids. It is structurally very similar to the natural oil of the body – sebum.

  • it is light and easily absorbable for the skin
  • it is non-comedogenic, meaning it will not clog up pores
  • antibacterial properties that fight infection on the skin and can prevent acne breakouts
  • it deeply penetrates the skin, leaving it soft, moisturised, and glowing
  • provides a substantial long-acting layer of moisture

MONTANOV 68 (Cetearyl Alcohol & Cetearyl Glucoside)

– Montanov 68 is a naturally-derived, plant-based emulsifier made from coconut oil & the cassava plant. We use it in certain products to prevent separation of the oil and water-based ingredients, and to create a thicker product consistency.

  • creates a layer in the product where water is stored, and that water is slowly released to the skin – this helps to hydrate the skin throughout the day

NATROSOL (Hydroxyethylcellulose)

– Natrosol is a sustainably sourced plant-derived cellulose used to thicken formulations and acts as a water retention aid.

  • increases moisture on the skin

OLIVEM 1000 (Cetearyl Olivate)

– Olivem 1000 is a completely natural, plant-derived emulsifier made from olive oil. It is added in certain products to prevent separation of the oil and water-based ingredients.

  • contains a combination of fatty acids that deeply moisturise the skin and promote healthy skin regeneration
  • it is hypoallergenic and does not cause skin irritation

PAPAYA EXTRACT (Carica Papaya Fruit Extract)

– This extract comes from the fruit of the Papaya tree, in the form of powder or oil.

  • the enzymes in papaya reduce inflammation

PERLASTAN L30 (Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate)

– A surfactant (active agent) found in certain amino acids in coconuts – it is a gentle cleansing agent that does not strip the skin of its natural oils.

PLANTACARE 1200 (Lauryl Glucoside)

– A conditioning surfactant that is naturally derived from plants. It is a gentle cleansing agent that works with Perlastan L30 to cleanse the skin.

PLANTACARE 2000 (Decyl Glucoside)

– A conditioning surfactant that is naturally derived from plants. It is a gentle cleansing and foaming agent.

ROSEHIP OIL (Rosa Rubiginosa Seed Oil)

– A pressed oil made from the rose hips of a wild rose bush.

  • high vitamin C levels which brighten the skin
  • useful in repairing the skin’s natural barrier, it treats the appearance of scars and scar discolouration

ROSE HYDROSOL (Rosa Damascena Flower Water)

– A sweet-fragranced liquid, made by steeping rose petals in water.

SAFFLOWER OIL (Carthamus Tinctorius Seed Oil)

– An essential oil extracted from safflower seeds, used in traditional medicine for centuries, mainly due to its healing properties.

– A fat extracted from the nut / shea kernel of the African Shea Tree, used mainly as a moisturiser.

SOAPWORT EXTRACT (Saponaria Officinalis Leaf Extract)

SOY LECITHIN

– A completely natural emulsifier made from soybean oil, which binds to both water and oil particles to prevent separation from occurring in skin and body care products.
